These are the instructions for setting up Outlook Express to use your
Bytecraft.net email account for users running OE on Windows 95 or 98.

Double Click the Outlook Express icon on your desktop.
If you are not connected to the Internet, then Outlook
will try to connect you. Press CANCEL and close down the error
message box that will appear. |

From the TOOLS Menu select ACCOUNTS |

From the Internet Accounts dialog box that appears, click
on ADD and then on MAIL
|

The Internet Connection Wizard will start and ask you what
the Display Name is. Enter a meaningful name and click NEXT.

Now type in your email address which is username@bytecraft.net
Or if you have registered a domain name with us then your
email address will be
yourname@yourdomain.co.uk Change
italic letters to the name(s) you have been supplied

The next screen asks for the server details.
Your incoming mail server is a POP3
Your incoming mail (POP3) AND your Outgoing mail (SMTP)
servers are:
post.bytecraft.net Or
if you have registered a domain name with us both servers will be called: post.yourdomain.co.uk Enter
this in the 2 boxes and click NEXT |

In the next screen enter your email account name and
password. It is up to you whether you tick the box to remember your
password, but we do recommend it.

Click on the MAIL tab of the Internet Accounts window and
click on the post.bytecraft.net entry.
If it does not have the (default) then click the SET AS
DEFAULT button.

Now Click on Properties and enter your email address again
in the REPLY ADDRESS section.
Tick the box to include this account... if not already
ticked.

Click on the Servers Tab.
Change your Account name to:
username/bytecraft.net
Or if you have registered a domain name with us:
yourname/yourdomain.co.uk
Make sure the box is ticked for Outgoing Mail Server - My
Server requires authentification. |

Click on the Connection Tab.
Find "Bytecraft" on the list and select it,
making sure the tick is present to always connect to this account using
... |

Click OK then CLOSE |

Now Click on Send/Receive to check your emails!
The system should connect to Bytecraft.net and collect
your mail. |
